How to create a new email account

  1. Open the Tools menu and choose Accounts

  2. Click E-mail Account

  3. Enter your full E-mail address

  4. Enter the password for this E-mail account

  5. User Name: Your full email address

  6. Incoming server: This is typically your domain name preceded by “mail.”, eg. mail.example.com

  7. Outgoing Server: This is the same as the Incoming server
    outlook 2011 outgoing server
    [Note:¬†You may need to check the box to “Override default port” and use port 2525 instead of the default port 25. Typical with home Internet accounts]
  8. Click Add Account

How to enable SMTP Authentication

  1. Open the Tools menu
  2. Click Accounts

  3. Click E-mail Account
  4. Click the “More options…” button

  5. From the Authentication drop-down menu and choose “Use Incoming Server Info

  6. Click the OK button

Outlook 2011 should now be correctly configured to send and receive emails.
